Halifax Ultimate

Halifax Ultimate is the largest and oldest Ultimate organization in Nova Scotia. The Halifax Ultimate Receational League (HURL) started in 1991 with just 4 teams playing on the Common on Tuesday nights. Since then the summer league has grown to more than fifty (50) teams and more than 700 players. Halifax Ultimate also runs leagues in the Spring, Fall and indoor Winter.

In addition to league play, Halifax Ultimate hosts an annual regional coed tournament, called Catch-n-Release, in late Aug. or early Sept. each year. The tournament attracts recreational and competitive teams from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and PEI.

In 2006, Halifax Ultimate hosted the Canadian Ultimate Championships. More than fifty teams and 1000 players from across Canada competed for the National prize in Open, Womens, Coed, Masters and Juniors divisions.
